Please Don’t Tax My Money

William Todd Coontz, formerly the minister of Rock Wealth International Ministries, wrote books such as Breaking the Spirit of Debt and Please Don’t Repo My Car. But it’s the checks that were written to him for his travel reimbursements that are at the center of his newest booking: Federal prosecutors in Charlotte, N.C., say he had other ministries where he traveled to speak write checks to reimburse him for his travel expenses; he then treated those checks as personal income even though he treated the money he laid out as business expenses. The government calls that tax fraud. Coontz’s lawyer says he’s innocent, because others were responsible for his money. (AC/Charlotte Observer) ...Wasn’t there anything in those books about personal responsibility?
