Quick Thinking

Paul James, 35, of Runcorn, Cheshire, England, took a quick trip to the resort town of Blackpool, where he rented a couple of mobility scooters worth 1,200 pounds (US$2,000). He decided to steal them, and started loading them into a van — in front of the local police station. Officers noticed James’ odd behavior, as well as the lettering “Blackpool Wheelchair Hire” on the sides, and nicked the thief. Lawyer Daniel Harman explained his client’s crime to the court this way: “He was out to make a quick buck, to put it bluntly.” (RC/Blackpool Gazette) ...Which allowed the coppers to make a quick collar.
