Road Rage, Parking Lot Edition

Officer Mark Curley was working a “secondary assignment” at the Brighton, Utah, Ski Resort. The parking lot was full and attendants were telling entering vehicles to turn around. According to Curley, Nathan Harrison, 20, started honking his horn. Curley asked Harrison why he was honking, to which Harrison replied, “he had a season pass to ski” and he should be let in. When Curley told him he would need to turn around, Harrison allegedly responded by driving straight at the signs and cones blocking the road, stopping only when an attendant slapped his hood. Curley then told Harrison to get out of his car. Eventually, Curley had to pull him out while Harrison was allegedly punching and screaming. Curley needed help from another officer to subdue Harrison, and during the scuffle Harrison also allegedly tried to take Curley’s gun. According to the arrest report, Harrison continued struggling even after he was cuffed, trying to pull handcuffs apart.
