Roadside Violation

“Ma’am, I don’t have any underwear on,” Charnesia Corley, 21, told a Harris County, Texas, sheriff’s deputy. “Well, that doesn’t matter,” the deputy responded. Then, Corley says, she bent over as ordered, and the deputy “proceeds to try to force her hand inside of me.” According to Corley’s lawyer, Corley stood up and the deputy threw her down. Then, the lawyer says, another deputy arrived, they forced Corley’s legs open, and they probed her — all in a gas station parking lot. The sheriff’s office confirmed there was “an incident,” but declined to comment in detail; Corley plans a lawsuit. Meanwhile, she faces charges: resisting arrest and possession of .02 ounces of pot. The intimate search began after a deputy who’d pulled her over on a stop-sign violation said he smelled pot in her car, failed to find it there, and then noticed the same smell in his car, where he’d had her sit while he searched hers. (AC/Houston Chronicle, KTRK Houston) ...Does resisting sexual penetration count as resisting arrest?
