Run Thief

Jaireme Barrow was tired of thieves snatching packages from his porch in South Tacoma, Wash. So he took a box from an order of toilet paper, rigged it with a plate, a string, and a firing pin, and now if you try to take it off the porch, you will be taught the error of your ways by a 12-gauge shotgun blast. It’s only a blank shell, but it’s been enough to send thieves fleeing; one even left his cell phone. Barrow said he might start selling his banging boxes. (AC/Tacoma News Tribune) ...And then they can be stolen from other folks’ porches.
