The Thin Blue Line
Bunker Hill, Ind., no longer has a police department now that the town’s marshal, and all four of his deputies, resigned. Marshal Michael Thomison’s letter of resignation notes that the town’s board was trying to get him to “be involved in illegal, unethical and immoral things over time.” Like what? Providing details of confidential police investigations — and conducting criminal background checks on other town board members. “I have had to educate them on the things they were asking from me and explained that I would not take part in any of these actions,” he said. The board also had voted to reduce his hours enough that he would no longer get health insurance ...after he was diagnosed with cancer. (RC/Kokomo Tribune) ...There’s cancer infecting the town board, too.Original Publication Date: 01 January 2017
