Smoked Out
Two officers on patrol in a park in Sarasota, Fla., noticed a man turned away from them — and dropped a cigarette pack. An officer told him he dropped his cigarettes. “I don’t smoke cigarettes, I smoke weed,” he replied. An officer looked inside the dropped pack but didn’t find marijuana; instead, he found four pieces of alleged crack cocaine. Charles E. Williams, 41, was charged with drug possession and jailed.
