Stop, Thief!

Mark P. Williams, 48, and Rachael A. Jones, 31, of Erie, Pa., were robbed. They were trying to sell a revolver out of their van when the prospective buyer took the gun in hand, pistol-whipped Williams, and ran. Williams and Jones called 911 to file a complaint. Police quickly discovered how they happened to have the gun to sell in the first place: they had stolen it. The couple was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, possessing a firearm without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The wanna-be buyer, Carl A. Knight, 25, was arrested on similar charges. (RC/Erie Times-News) ...So they got what they wanted.
