Suburban Myth

When police arrived at Brian Mattert’s home in Cheyenne, Wyo., to investigate a domestic violence complaint, he figured they would arrest him. Mattert, 34, poured white latex paint all over himself. “You see all this water-based paint?” Mattert asked the officers. “You shoot me with that [Taser] and you’ll kill me.” The officers explained that paint doesn’t make Tasers any more or less dangerous, and ordered Mattert to surrender, but he refused. The officers patiently talked with him for some time, but when his resistance became physical they indeed chose to Taser him. He didn’t die, and was charged with domestic violence, assault and battery, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a peace officer. (RC/Cheyenne Tribune Eagle) ...I thought everyone knew the only defense against a Taser is a tinfoil hat.
