That’s Just Ducky

SCAN — the Stop Child Abuse & Neglect organization in Ft. Wayne, Ind. — held a “duck race” for a fundraiser. They released 17,000 numbered plastic ducks into the St. Joseph river, but once the race was concluded only about 15,000 of the ducks were scooped up. SCAN announced it is working with water officials to try to get the rest, but many have gotten away: duck sightings have been reported as far away as Ohio. “The beauty of the river is essential to our community,” said SCAN spokeswoman Jennifer Boen, “and we do not want to do anything to jeopardize that beauty.” (RC/Ft.
