That Tingly Feeling
Travis Tingler, 32, was sharing a home with his girlfriend and her children in Manitowoc, Wisc. According to one of the children, Tingler was drinking and “acting weird,” making comments like, “Stay in the light and never come into the dark.” Then, he threw his glass, removed his clothes, and went outside. Police found him in the middle of the street, shouting at the house that he had a knife and would gut the people inside. “I told him he couldn’t be out in the middle of the street with no clothes on,” an officer said. Tingler told the officers that he had no weapon and yes, he could be on the street without clothes. The officers disagreed and arrested Tingler, using a stun gun to subdue him. Tingler was holding a lighter, and the stun-gun shock ignited the lighter fluid, causing his beard and chest hair to catch fire. An officer patted out the fire, but Tingler continued to struggle and punched an officer. Another officer used another stun gun to finally subdue him. Tingler allegedly tested positive for marijuana, and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.177 percent. Police recommended charges of resisting a police officer, battery on an officer, disorderly conduct, and lewd and lascivious behavior.
