Residents near Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Petersburg, Va., are nervous over a flock of vultures that have been hanging around the school. The city has asked for guidance on the matter, “to determine the proper protocol as the birds are protected under the U.S. Migratory Bird Act.” Residents want the city to move faster. “Getting worse and worser all the time,” said one. “They gross looking,” said Nikita Williams, whose daughter goes to the school. “I’m scared that one of those birds is going to come down and try to attack something or somebody or a child.” (RC/WTVR Richmond) ...Only if they’re dead on the playground.Original Publication Date: 07 May 2017
