The Things We Do for Love

A 50-year-old man was severely injured after El Paso County, Colo., when, sheriffs deputies say, he crashed his car into the home of his estranged wife, set the house on fire, and then barricaded himself inside. William Anthony Gooch was in critical condition in the burn unit at a Denver hospital. Deputy Teresa Murphy said Gooch slammed his car into the house on ...yes... Great Smokey Avenue. His estranged wife fled and called 911. “He was in the home for quite a while before he left through a window with a weapon,” Murphy said. Last year, Gooch was arrested after a six-hour standoff. That time, he had a gun and was threatening suicide. (JW/Colorado Springs Gazette) ...No doubt the deputies hope the third try will be the charm.
