The city of Lake Worth, Fla., sent out an emergency message to cell phones in the city at 1:45 a.m. “Power outage and zombie alert for residents of Lake Worth and Terminus,” it warned, and 7,380 customers were involved in the blackout “due to extreme zombie activity.” Ben Kerr, Lake Worth’s public information officer, said there is “an investigation ongoing” as to how the message got into their emergency notification system, and apologized for any alarm. “I want to reiterate that Lake Worth does not have any zombie activity currently,” he said.
