The Wheel Man

After a car thief in Daytona Beach, Fla., was arrested for the third time in just six weeks, the judge ordered that he wear an ankle monitor. But within six hours of being released with the monitor, the thief had cut it off, and was arrested again in the company of other known car thieves. “He has a look-at-me attitude,” says the investigator in the case, Sgt. Tim Ehrenkaufer. “He’s flashy.” The criminal’s name was withheld because he’s only 10 years old. “He even looks like a 10-year-old,” said Capt. Jennifer Krosschell. The local paper notes that’s “the age of a fourth-grader.” (RC/Daytona Beach News-Journal) ...Which isn’t to say he hasn’t flunked the first grade several times.
