Touch and Go

A “dash camera” in a car in Markham, Ont., Canada, caught what the Transportation Safety Board of Canada called a “runway excursion.” A plane with a student pilot had taken off from Buttonville Airport, and lost power. It didn’t have enough altitude to get back to the airport, and hit the ground right in front of the car, just missing it. The plane sustained major damage, but the female student and the male instructor were not injured. A TSB spokesman was quick to point out that the instructor was at the controls, not the student.
