Way to Go

“You really have to search for the additions” to five road signs in Didcot, England, Signet Sign Limited tweeted. “The font, size, everything’s perfect,” explained the local mayor, Jackie Billington. There’s just one thing that stands out about them: Didcot has been called the “most normal town” in England, and the signs purport to point the way to Narnia, the Emerald City, and other imaginary places. “To me there’s nowhere that’s normal,” said the rogue signmaker, who did not wish to be named. “I thought I’d have a go at changing people’s perceptions of Didcot.” The Oxfordshire County Council, however, warned that the fake signs might be distracting. They’ll be taken down, it said — but there are higher priorities, namely potholes. (AC/BBC) ...A government with its priorities in order? That’s really not normal.
