After a car sailed through a stop sign in Rock Hill, S.C., police pulled the car over and noted the driver had mustard “all over his hands and face, and generally appeared sloppy and disheveled.” Mario Maurice Barnes, 46, had been eating a submarine sandwich while driving, but the real problem is what he was washing it down with: “Take me to jail,” Barnes suggested. “We both know I’m drunk.” A breath test pegged Barnes’ blood alcohol at .24 percent, and he was booked for DUI, plus driving with a suspended license, third offense.
