A Narrow Chance

Two inmates at the Spokane County (Wash.) Jail are being investigated for attempted escape after jail staff noticed a bed-sheet rope hanging from a cell window just before dawn. “We looked across to the jail and there were a whole bunch of sheets tied together dangling down from the building,” said Ken Coburn, who saw it from an adjacent building. “That’s like the oldest trick in the book, next to putting a file in the cake.” But it’s not likely that the two inmates could successfully escape. While the window is 46" tall, it’s only 4-7/8" wide. (RC/Spokane Spokesman Review) ...They thought they had a chance because they’re pinheads.
