In 2014, Bradley Hardison gained “international notoriety” (including This is True: “This Story Is Full of Holes” in Volume 12) after winning a donut-eating contest sponsored by the Elizabeth City (N.C.) Police Department. The next day, he was arrested for breaking and entering after sheriff’s investigators in a neighboring county saw the story in the newspaper, recognizing Hardison as a suspect they were looking for. He was sentenced to probation in that case — and later given probation in another B&E case in another county. Hardison, now 27, has been arrested again, charged with felony breaking and entering, safecracking, and theft. His alleged target this time: a Dunkin’ Donuts shop. (RC/Elizabeth City Daily Advance) ...Looks like donut shops and North Carolina courts have something in common: revolving doors.
