Armed, Meet Dangerous
“He’s got a gun!” yelled Michael Foster. He put Clarence Daniels in a chokehold and wrestled him to the floor. “I have a permit!” yelled Daniels, who did not shoot his attacker. Foster, 43, who looks white on the resulting security video, had noticed Daniels, 62, who looks black, concealing the pistol before leaving his car for the Brandon, Fla., Walmart. Daniels has a concealed-carry permit. Foster was arrested, charged with battery. “We understand it’s alarming for people to see other people with guns,” said a sheriff’s spokesman, “but Florida has a large population of concealed weapons permit holders.” (AC/Tampa Bay Times) ...Wait, you think it’s a citizen’s job to stop crime, but you assumed a black citizen was a criminal because he had a gun?Original Publication Date: 25 January 2015
