Assault on a Battery

A burglar hit the Battery Mart store in Apple Valley, Calif. Security cameras show he wore a disguise — “what appeared to be a maxi pad on his forehead,” says a spokesman for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office. That didn’t do much to cover the man’s face, and deputies recognized the intruder as Gary Victor, 51. They got a search warrant and raided Victor’s house, arresting him and recovering the stolen goods. Victor was released after posting bail. (RC/Victorville Daily Press) ...Released on bail? He should be under maxi-mum security!
