Beyond Sneakers

“You could spot them in several intersections, and you could see all sorts of reactions to them,” said Lucila Cejas Epple. The orange and white items — hundreds of them — are hanging in pairs from Portland’s power lines, and have evoked varied reactions from people in the Oregon city known for its weirdness. “Some would blush, others would laugh, and most would take photos.” Some people even reported the sex toys to the local government’s Office of Neighborhood Involvement.
