Black & White and Bent All Over

Des Moines, Iowa, police Officer Brandon Singleton, 28, called dispatchers to request help changing a tire. When a supervisor saw the two flat tires and body damage, though, he knew that there was more to the story. Then another officer spotted drugs in the patrol car, and a search turned up more drugs apparently unrelated to any investigation or arrest. Investigation revealed that Singleton had apparently crashed into a vehicle 5 hours earlier, 3 miles away from where he was. Singleton was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and hit-and-run. Singleton, an officer for five years, had a previous on-duty crash; the department is being sued over that one. Court records appear to show that he was arrested for misdemeanor cocaine possession before he was a cop, but prosecutors declined to prosecute. (MS/Des Moines Register) ...If you think that was a hard crash, wait until you see what happens with his career.
