Eye Caramba
A 67-year-old woman thought the discomfort in her eye was just from age and dryness, and went to England’s Solihull Hospital for cataract surgery. But she felt more comfortable after treatment — even though the treatment didn’t include the surgery. Doctors thought there’d be an increased risk of inflammation if they did surgery right after removing the 27 contact lenses the woman had collected in her eye. Seventeen of them, with mucus holding them together, had formed a “bluish foreign body,” and once that was identified, another 10 lenses were located.
