Alexander Webster, 29, of Lake Worth, Fla., allegedly ran a stop sign. When a police officer tried to pull him over for the infraction, Webster allegedly cut through traffic to try to “lose” the cop, then took a sharp turn at a corner and crashed into a hedge. Webster then tried to run on foot, the cop says, but the officer ordered him to the ground at gunpoint, and was able to arrest him. That’s when Webster told the officer that his 6-year-old son was in the back seat of his car. The boy was fine, and Webster was charged with fleeing from an officer, and child neglect. And why did he run? Because, Webster says, his driver’s license had been suspended. The cop checked: it wasn’t. (RC/Palm Beach Post) ...Let’s hope it will be now.
