A Crappy View

A woman took her 7-year-old daughter into an outhouse in White Water Park, Okla. According to police reports, the woman saw something move. “As she looked closer, she noticed that there was a man looking up at her,” the resulting police report said — from the outhouse waste pit. She called the police and they pulled out Kenneth Enlow, 52. Officers called in the fire department to hose him down, and then they arrested him. Enlow allegedly told deputies that his girlfriend had hit him on the head with a tire iron and dumped him in the toilet. The facts didn’t match his story, though, and he was charged under Oklahoma's peeping Tom statute. He pled guilty to a misdemeanor violation and was sentenced to one year in jail and a $5,000 fine. Enlow was not charged with a felony and will not have to register as a sex offender. Assistant District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said prosecutors had explored the possibility of charging Enlow with a felony, but “couldn’t make it fit” with the felony criteria in the law. (MS/Tulsa World) ...Did a crappy thing, saved by a crappy law.
