Go Back to Sleep

When she heard the middle-of-the-night crash outside her Ogden, Utah, apartment, Holly Maxwell says, she and her roommate “ran down the stairs like a herd of elephants” to see what had happened. They found an 8-year-old boy had decided he needed to go to the store, so he took his 5-year-old sister into their mother’s van, and took off. They didn’t get very far before hitting a tree. Neither child was injured. Police woke mom to tell her what happened, but the mother had “no reaction to the news.” (RC/Salt Lake Tribune) ...“Eh. I’ve heard worse about those two.”
