Robert E. Lee Elementary in Austin, Texas, is named for the Confederate Civil War general. The school board voted to rename the school, and made the unwise decision to solicit suggestions on the Internet for new names. Leading so far: Donald J. Trump Elementary. Other suggested names include Adolf Hitler School for Friendship and Tolerance, Forgetting the Past Dooms You to Repeat It Elementary, Hypothetical Perfect Person Memorial Elementary School, and, in a nod to the attempt to name a British ship “Boaty McBoatface”, Schooly McSchoolerson.
