Peregrine Honig is a sports fan, as well as the owner of Birdies Panties, a lingerie shop in Kansas City, Mo. She combined the two by creating a “Take the Crown” panty design as the Kansas City Royals baseball team headed into the World Series against the San Francisco Giants. She hand-drew a “KC” logo across the bottom. When two men came into her store, “I asked one of them what size he needed and he showed me a badge and took me outside,” Honig says. “They told me they were from Homeland Security.” Terrorists in the neighborhood? Nope: the agents said “we were violating copyright laws.” By connecting the “K” and the “C” so that the logo looked like the Royals’ logo, she was in violation of the law — and they confiscated her entire stock of “Take the Crown” panties. The Royals were defeated in the Series. (RC/Kansas City Star) ...So, they were caught with their pants down?
