Let’s Just Say They’re Not Expecting Very Long Waits

Police in Aurora, Colo., don’t want you to drink and drive. In fact, they’d rather locals called them for a free ride home if they’ve had too much to drink. Really. All anyone has to do is be at least 21 years old, be drunk between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. on a Friday or Saturday, call the department on the non-emergency line, sit through a lecture on the dangers of drunk driving, be willing to be searched, produce identification (and agree to a warrants check), sign a liability waiver, and decide whether they want to blow into a breathalyzer to see if they really are drunk.
