What does it take to put a preschool on lockdown? A “loud explosion” had been reported, the Illinois-based Skokie Park District said. Its Devonshire Cultural Center, which houses a preschool, resumed normal operations a little more than half an hour after the lockdown began. In the meantime, police had investigated. “The source of the popping sound was an over-inflated stroller tire that had ruptured in a hallway within the facility,” they said.
