Mourners Were Offered a Stiff Drink

Boxer Christopher Rivera Amaro’s record was just 5 wins and 15 losses, but when the San Juan, Puerto Rico, man was shot to death at just 23 years old, his family wanted to remember him as a fearsome practitioner of his chosen career. So the Marin Funeral Home suggested that they not only dress him in his fighting clothes, complete with boxing gloves, it set up a stage that looked like the corner of a boxing ring, and propped him up in a standing position so family members could get photos with him.
