Road Rage, Florida Style

Melissa Drake, 46, was driving in Ft. Myers, Fla., with three children in the car when she noticed a Mercedes was weaving in and out of traffic, coming up behind her. She remembers telling herself, “This is not going to end well.” The driver passed her, and cut her off. She honked. In response, “He brake-checked us to the point where I had to slam on my brakes.” Then the Mercedes slowed down until he was beside her. “My son and I looked at each other right at the same time and said, ‘Is that a gun?’” The driver pointed it right at her son, she says. “To mess with me is one thing, but to mess with my children — you don’t mess with mama bear,” Drake said. She called 911. Before police could find the driver, someone else called 911 to report the same driver was outside his vehicle, jumping up and down on one leg. “He’s spewing blood from his leg,” said Gayle Sarceno. “He just drops, right there in the center lane.” The unnamed driver had crashed into a guardrail, but it’s unclear if that happened before, or after, he had accidentally shot himself in the leg. (RC/WBBH Ft. Myers, Ft. Myers News-Press) ...So pretty much, he was run over by his own karma.
