Gold Star for Ignorance

Wanting art to put over the news anchor’s shoulder during a brief story about the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, someone at WGN-TV in Chicago, Ill., went into the graphic bank and picked out an image of a Jewish star. After an uproar, the station says it’s going to provide “Holocaust education and tolerance training” for newsroom staff with the help of the Simon Wiesenthal Center. (AC/WGN Chicago, New York Daily News) ...The help of a third-grade teacher would be more appropriate.
