Safekeeping

St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Ill., had a mystery on its hands: patients’ valuables were being stolen. It wasn’t that they hadn’t taken care with them: patients’ money and valuables were locked in a safe, and disappeared from there. Hospital administrators secretly set up a camera to watch the safe, and they soon had their man: Oronzo N. Mazzoccoli, 31, was allegedly recorded taking $700 from the safe. Mazzoccoli was a security guard at the hospital, and has been fired and arrested. The safe is located in the hospital’s security office. (RC/Chicago Tribune) ...When investigating who is stealing from a safe, always start with the people who have the combination.
