They’re Everywhere!

“I’m not sure how it got loose but I just saw it coming loose and flying across the road as we were driving,” Erin Van Londen said, referring to a giant (30-40 feet tall) inflatable “Minion” character that had torn loose from its moorings and landed in the middle of a road in Dublin, Ireland. Van Londen called the police (“It was quite an odd thing to have to report”), and eventually they were able to deflate the Minion and haul it off in a wheelbarrow. Damage was minor, but local Councillor Paul McCauliffe warned that there could have been more serious consequences and has requested an investigation. “Fairground events and festivals are really important in bringing footfall to our city villages but even the smallest events have health and safety conditions,” he said. “I have asked the Council to provide me with a report on the incident and for the operators of the fairground to be interviewed by council officials.” (MS/Dublin Journal) ...Police are now on the lookout for a 60-foot Gru.
