Yankee Doodle Doggie

When Callie Schenker, 22, pulled into her Halfway, Mo., driveway, she expected to see her one-eyed pony, Cricket. What she didn’t expect to see was a Corgi riding on her back. She grabbed her phone and posted a 15-second video of the horse and rider on Facebook. “This is not our dog!” the post said. “But apparently him and Cricket the one eyed wonder pony are best friends.” Schenker said she thinks the dog’s name is Roper, and belongs to her neighbors. The dog makes himself at home at Schenker’s house, sometimes sneaking in through the doggie door to eat her own dogs’ food. Still, Roper has brought laughter into the world as the video went viral, with more than 6 million views. “I’m really glad everyone got a good laugh out of it,” Schenker said, noting the dog’s owners, who are Mennonites and avoid going online, have no idea how famous their dog is now. (MS/Springfield News-Leader) ...Eh: just a dog and pony show.
