And These Guys Think They’re Tough

At 3:30 a.m., police officer Ann Carrizales of Stafford, Texas, pulled over a suspicious vehicle with three men inside. When she got out of her car to approach the vehicle, one of the men opened fire, hitting Carrizales in the chest and face, and then they sped off. Carrizales didn’t drop: instead she returned fire, then ran back to her car and gave chase. The car eventually stopped and all three occupants ran, but the alleged shooter was caught; the other two were caught after Carrizales, 40, held a news conference asking the public to help “protect the protectors.” Last year, a driver rolled up his window on Carrizales’ arm and drove off, dragging her and another officer. Both escaped after the window broke. The three men in the more recent case are believed to be members of the “Houstones” gang. (RC/Houston Chronicle) ...The Houstones? Didn’t they release a record in the 1960s?
