Bomb Scare

On Thanksgiving, an unnamed woman was driving on Interstate 15 in San Diego, Calif., when her cell phone rang. According to police, the person on the other end told the woman there was a bomb in her car. She immediately pulled over and called 911, triggering a response from multiple agencies, including the bomb squad. The freeway was shut down in both directions, and dogs were brought in to check out the car. No bomb was found, and police were beginning to clear the scene when the woman’s brother, Victor Diaz, called her ...to apologize for his prank phone call. Diaz, 28, reported to the scene and was arrested on felony charges, including making a false bomb threat. Motorists were not happy about the four-hour shutdown. “I can’t even, I can’t even think. I’m just like, I can’t believe this is happening, on Thanksgiving,” said one affected motorist. “Well, it’ll make for a memorable Thanksgiving,” said another.
