Many Recipients Evacuated Too

The German tech firm sent out 40 packages with alarm clocks glued to hard drives with an attached note that read, “Your time is running out.” Not surprisingly, panicked recipients in Bonn, Berlin and Frankfurt thought they were bombs and called police. Many businesses were evacuated. The mailing was meant to “raise awareness of the dangers of losing data,” a Convar spokesman said. “At absolutely no point did we mean to threaten, or injure, anyone.” Police are considering charges of “Wasting Police Time.” (RC/Sky News) ...Though in an ideal world, “Corporate Stupidity” would garner a bigger fine.
