The Sting

The Michigan State Police set up a sting for a man who was advertising on a gay web site that he wanted to trade “sexual favors for illegal substances” — drugs. They set up an “attractive” profile on the site, which sure enough attracted the suspect, Michael Strong, 37. They set up a meeting at a hotel, which was wired with cameras and microphones, and they say Strong showed up with the promised drugs, and he was recorded telling undercover officers “what he was going to do” in exchange for them. Strong was wearing his police uniform — he’s an officer in Prairieville Township. He was arrested and charged with a delivery of amphetamines, a felony, as well as felony use of a firearm — his service pistol. He has only been out of the basic police academy for 10 months. (RC/Kalamazoo Gazette) ...Apparently undercover stings aren’t covered until the advanced classes.
