This Will Impress Them

A woman in Spokane, Wash., says she’s had a number of run-ins with her neighbor, Brent Nouwels, 32, including threats that he was going to burn down her home. She called 911 when he appeared at her door with a gun in his hand, trying to kick his way in. When officers arrived, Nouwels ran back into his own house, which was quickly surrounded. Officers tried for over an hour to get him to reply to their attempts to communicate, but he didn’t respond to a bullhorn or phone calls. Then, officers saw Nouwels climb out his bedroom window, and onto his icy roof. From there, he subjected officers to “a barrage of taunts,” saying he was ready to fight them, but the barrage didn’t last long: he slipped and fell off the roof. Before he could regain his composure, he was slapped in handcuffs and taken to jail on charges of harassment, attempted burglary, and being a felon in possession of a handgun. (RC/Spokane Spokesman-Review) ...Sure they caught him, but they didn’t catch him.
